Video Power Tool

Last updated

Video Power Tool collects nothing, tracks nothing, and phones home to no one.

In short

There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers operated by the developer. Everything the extension does happens locally, on your own device.

What we collect

Nothing. Video Power Tool has no analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, and no identifiers. It does not gather your browsing history, the sites you visit, or any personal information, and it never sends data to the developer.

What stays on your device

Videos you capture are saved through your browser's normal download system, directly to your computer. Your wall — its layout, sizes, clips, volume, and playback positions — is stored only in your browser's local storage, on your device. None of it is uploaded anywhere, and clearing the extension's data in your browser removes all of it.

What the extension does not do

It does not sell or share data (there is none to sell), does not track you across sites, shows no ads, and does not run or download remote code. The only network requests it makes are to fetch the media you choose to capture — sent directly to the website you are already visiting, never to the developer.

Website access is yours to grant

The extension ships with access to no websites. The right-click "Add video to the wall" action uses the browser's temporary activeTab grant — access to the one page you invoked it on, for that moment only. If you add a site of your own choosing in Site settings, the browser asks you to approve access to that site, one site at a time; you can revoke any of it whenever you like from the browser's extension settings. No site list is built in, and your list of sites is never suggested, collected, or reported — it stays in your browser's local storage like every other setting.

Permissions, in plain language

Chrome and Opera list the permissions the extension requests. Here is what each one is for:

Third-party code

The extension bundles Anime4K-WebGPU (MIT-licensed) for optional on-device AI upscaling. It runs entirely on your GPU and sends nothing over the network.

Children

This extension is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be updated to reflect the current version. Because no data is collected, changes will only ever clarify wording.

Contact

Questions about this policy can be sent through the extension's page in the Chrome Web Store or the Opera add-ons catalog.
